ATTETON!!!!!!! HAVE YOU HEARD THE NEWS!!!!! That’s how most urban legends get spread. So One Day we had to do research on what urban legends are and many examples of them. So what is an urban legend you ask? Well an urban legend is a story that it is passed from mouth to mouth, through e-mail and txt massages but is not sure if it’s true or not, but most believes that they are true. There are a lot of urban legends out their three examples of an urban examples are.

The First example of an urban legend is something I like to call coke-cane
It was a rumor going around that the coco-cola that we love today use to contain one of the most deadly drugs in the world. Cocaine most people didn’t believe that but according to snoops. Com and a lot of research I come to find out that coco cola use to have cocaine in it to use as a medicine. But how did thy have such a bad drug cure someone illness? When cocaine alone gets people sick and can kills them. It just doesn’t make sense to me. But Later on they took it out and made coca cola a popular drink that we love today.


The Second Example of an urban legend is that in the month of January is the perfect month to break up with your spouse. I personally believe that this is true. Because every year people break up rite after Christmas because they got their gift and it’s about to be spring and that’s when everyone become single and just enjoy there self for the good weather. But some people think the best time to break up with your Boy friend &Girl friend around the middle of February because of the season change. And you don’t have to have nobody breathing down your back in the summer time. And get them back around the fall time right when school start back up. Well that’s just how people around me do it.
My third and last urban legend is the old yellow five myths. About two years ago a little rumor came around that if you drink Mountain Dew or eat hot cheetos( or any thing with Yellow 5 in it) They penis would get smaller and they well produce less sperm cells. For A long time men were afraid to drink or eat anything with yellow 5 in it. They ended up taking this to the real scientist and did some research and this is not true THANK GOD!!! Because I like drinking Mountain Dew and Lemon heads.

These were three examples that I thought was right to describe what an urban legends was I heard most of these urban legends from school or forwarded text massages. And that’s how most of the urban legends get so much controversy in the media and the public. So nest time your best friend or your crazy aunt try to tell you something crazy like you can get cancer from microwaving plastics and food get cancer. Don’t just up and believe them or just don’t be like “man whatever”. Try to do some research on it and see rather if it was true or not.

Pictures that Lie

The five pictures that stood out to me were The time magazine with a split picture of OJ Simpson with one picture on the right make him looks scary. And the picture on the left is more brigh er and less scary . and the second one was the picture in black in white in one side it's a picture with all white people and one black person. But on the right it's the same picture itsept the black person is cut out of the picture. And the thrid picture is the picture of ophra when she is posing on a pile of money. They just pasted her body on somone eles body... The foruth picture is the picture when that lady when she has all white on with a white motorcycle. The fith and final out of my top five is the picture with the helcopter and on the bottom theres just a helacopter over the water. But in the top picture it's a shark trying to eat the man on the lader.. so they were trying to make the scen more actioney. The one that catch my eyes is the oj Simpson one because the media will aulture a picture to make somthing bad or good. there was no reason to darken the party but just to make a satement to say that he's a bad person and that what he did was bad. But in reality he was the victom. The media Dose Things like that to manepulate the poeple minds.

the impact of voilence in the media have on us

In the past week we talked about how violence in the media have a big effect on us in our daily life's. I can tell you that's true because everything we see or hear we have to immite the same thing. Like for example. Before Gangsta music came out there was not as many murders herd or talked about. But When N.W.A Came out in the late 80's earily 90's thats all you heard about is who killed who shot who. It's Like what they rapped about the inner city belived they had to lived that so they can be "hard". And The violent video games Like "Grand Theft Auto" And "Hit Men". Some People don't know the difference between fiction and realitly. and Take Fiction to the real life and try to do the things that they do in the video games in real life on there freinds and enimens. And Another Example is the movies that we watch. Like menace to socity, Boyz n da hood, amercian gangster, Godfather. And All Them videos Are all Gangster Movies With Durgs and violence and lots of it. That's infulenced by the music so all of the media is like a big circle because the movies inspier the the rappers and the rappers and the movies inspier the actors and director. and the video games is a mixture of the two. And what peopole hear in the music make some people scared to visti the urban areas where the music come from or where the movie is based on. All You have to rember is that its all jus fiction and that they do it to make money.

Hip Hop part 1

"Rappers Who talk about violence and the streets ate just reflecting the Violent American culture that we live in". I Totally agree with this statement because the rappers these days just rap about what they see and hear about and if all they see and hear is people getting robbed and shot, then that's what their gonna to rap about. And they are going to get paid allot of money for saying they "I pooped this" because the white community Loves stuff like that And white people will try to do the stuff that the rappers rap about and half of the time the rappers never did what they said They just said it because it rhymed with their line. Like I was talking to one of my Friends and we know this white kid who try so hard to be black and he thinks it cool to be in the "Hood" just to say he lived in the hood but that's not a good place to be in. The people in the ghetto Rob and Sell drugs because they have to if they had a job that paid them they would not be robbing people and selling drugs and stuff.The rappers are just telling a story that goes on in their mind and all of them are kinda of the same.

This qoute relates to my satements i made in perviosevly passage above, because in realtily the rapper who talk's about I'll kill you and your family is not really gonna do anything rap music is just a bluff on what they see in movies and what the people on the block tell them. But their is some people who do the stuff they rap about. And every rapper these days are A "Mack Daddy" and make songs about how their goona to have sex with them and call them all types of b words. And the Thug type every rapper makes a "Goon" song about how they got into somthing and end up using a gun to slove it. But all hip hop isnt like that though.

media sterotypes

For the last two days we watch two different videos about how men and females are exploded in ads. In the first video was about how girls are mistreated and used to sell products with their bodies (sex sells). And yesterday we watch a video on how the media have such an effluence on how boys and men act violently. The Two videos well to me were sexist and unaccreacted. With the first video the lady would pull up a picture of a little girl with a little boy and she said that it was degrading because the boy was “playing the tough boy roll”. Most of the stuff she said I didt agree with. And the video yesterday was the opposite it had to do with how young men are influenced by violent movies, games and lifestyles. And he went on to say how movies have some part to do with the school shootings they showed. And how black people have a certain roll. Like the way they walk the way they talk as he called it “gangster mentality “. He was stereotyping the different races. For example he said that the white young boys are most likely to shoot up a school and a black person is more likely to rob a liquor store .The two videos did have some similarities though, even though I thought that lady was sexist she did have a good point. Because females are always half naked on TV adds I know if I was a female I would hate watching that. Because when I saw that Calvin Klein adds I couldn't’t look. But Like I said in the begging Sex Sells. And the companies that make the ads are going to keep making money because of Horny comusters. And I do agree with the man when he said everywhere we go we see violent adds or movies. The similarities between theses two movies are that they are both trying to defend they point how one the media degrade males and females and have a big enfulce on the teens growing up who watch and do everything they see on the TV. But these videos are more different then similar. And I think that them two people who did that video should hook up because they both have strong opines about degrading media. But they should though.

Super bowl adds

I think that the super bowl adds this year wasnt as funny as last years. But they were selling adds for 3 million per 30 second add. And thats alot of money!!! But i think that the funniest add was the diretos add with the snow glob,
And the two little babies talking. But there was more beer adds then there ever been. Even a one second add. But on sunday night i was not really paying attetion to the adds i was to busy watching the game, and talking mess. And there was no GM adds this year.
